What Matters Most to IT Employees?

IT professionals agree that base pay and challenging job responsibilities are most important. This is a shift from just a year ago when 58% of IT staffers and 49% of IT managers reported job security was important. Job security is not as important as in the past. This year, the percentage of IT professionals looking for job security dropped to 33% for IT staffers and 25% for IT managers.

Managers are much more interested than staffers in seeing the importance of their role in achieving company success. IT staffers are more focused than managers on developing skills and taking advantage of learning opportunities. More than a third of IT staffers and 40% of IT managers want the ability to create innovative IT solutions.
