Back in the day, predating the dot-com bust, IT professionals were constantly being sought out by headhunters. As the market calls, the calls stopped coming. But it looks as if that trend has shifted. Approximately half of IT professionals report being contacted by a headhunter or recruiter in the last 12 months; that's up from 2006 levels of 36% of staffers and 43% of managers.
